Beach Reservation Guidelines

Our beautiful PWEA beach is a shared resource for all homeowners in our community. These guidelines are designed to ensure everyone can enjoy the beach respectfully and safely, considering the unique challenges of narrow streets and close-knit community.

 

How To Make A Beach Party Reservation:

1.     Check our Beach Calendar for available dates: Calendar

2.     Fill out the: Party Reservation Form

3.     Once the Form is received, allow 2-3 days for a response.

4.     Upon receiving an email confirmation, send payment either by:

No reservation is confirmed until the Beach Party Reservation Form AND payment has been received by the PWEA Treasurer and you receive a confirmation email.

Beach Rules and Regulations: - Violations of these guidelines may result in fines or restrictions on future beach use.

1. Party Size and Guest Limits

•  Beach Parties may NOT exceed 100 guests

•  Required Beach Party Event Fee

Under 29 guests ___________________________________________________ $200.00
30 to 49 guests_____________________________________________________$300.00
50 to 74 guests_____________________________________________________$400.00
75 or more_______________________________With the discretion of the PWEA board

 

2. Parking and Traffic

•    Encourage guests to carpool or use Rideshare services to minimize traffic and parking issues.

•    Street parking is limited. Do not block driveways, fire lanes, or the flow of traffic, otherwise you are at risk of being towed at the owner’s expense.

•    The parking lot will continue to be available for member parking ONLY during the duration of your event.

•    No Guests may park on the beach, unless they are ALSO members of PWEA and have parking tags.

•   Party Hosts are NOT permitted to block off the entire beach or post “no parking” signs.

 

3. Noise and Quiet Hours

•    Keep noise levels at a reasonable volume, especially after 9:00 PM on weekdays and 10:00 PM on weekends.

•    The Town of North Hempstead’s noise code requires you to minimize noise after 10PM. For details go to http://encode360.com/9297052

 

4. Beach Use and Cleanup

•    Your reservation is only for use of the grassy area of the beach

•    Remove all party equipment (tables, chairs, coolers, etc.) by the end of the event.

•    Rental Tents are only allowed to be placed on the grassy area and must be removed within 24 hours following the event.

•    The Party Host will pay $50 per day if the tent is NOT removed within this time frame.

•    When you have a RESERVED PWEA Beach Event Reservation, this means you will be the only large, private party at the beach during your reservation time. However, the beach will remain open to other PWEA members for their use on the sandy beach, dock, playground, etc.

•    Party Hosts are responsible for COMPLETE cleanup of the beach and removal of all debris from the beach, including wiping down tables, cleaning up the grounds, and cleaning up the kitchen and bathroom. Provide trash bags and recycling bins for guests during the party.  If this is not done, a $250.00 clean-up fee will be charged to the Party Host.

•    Party Hosts must remove and dispose of all garbage from the beach (DO NOT LEAVE IT OUTSIDE THE GATE).

•    Balloons are NOT allowed at the beach.

 

5. Permits and Special Requests

•    Each vendor (ex. Catering, DJ, etc.) who is hired for a party at the beach is required to name the Port Washington Estates Association (PWEA) as an additional insured on its insurance policy.

•    The event host is to provide PWEA with a certificate of insurance no later than five (5) days prior to the party.

•    No on-site cooking permitted (with the exception of food trucks)
